"We can’t predict all the struggles and storms in life, not even the ones just around the next corner, but as persons of faith and hope, we know beyond the shadow of any doubt that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and the best is yet to come." - L. Tom Perry

Missing Family!

Earlier we missed out on a family wedding up in Washington. Chantel and her now husband Dean were married (top photo). We missed it. And today is the wedding for Jackie and her fiance Justin (bottom photo) in the Salt Lake Temple. And yes, we are missing out on their wedding too. Not just are we missing their very special days, but a chance to be with family. We love you Chantel and Jackie and wish you both the best. You look so happy. We miss everyone! Arizona is so far away from so much of our family. It has been over three years since I've seen my family, and I hope they know how much I miss them. We are thankful for the family that does live nearby: Jera, Dustin and Kyla, and now Alysa and Tyson with there new little daughter.

Need Soft Tissue!

We have been sick. Not completely miserable, just typical common cold stuff. All the Vitamin C in the world couldn't even keep Phil from getting it. Last week Phil came home from work and mention how nice and warm it was outside, and how he spent his lunch break basking in the warmth of the sun, sitting in his car, and how "nice" it felt. It's August in Arizona! The month of record breaking temperatures and I still had to convince him that he was coming down with something. He was convinced that he had just finally "adjusted" to the heat in Arizona. Luckily we haven't really had to miss a beat with the kids in school and Phil at work, but we are looking forward to everyone feeling their best again.

First Day of School

The kids have been so ready for school. Meagan could not sleep last night, she was so excited. I think we are all ready, but I will sure miss them being around so much. Phil gave them each their back to school blessings last night. Even Heidi got one, she didn't want to be left out. It really is getting difficult to accept how old my kids are getting (and oh course how old that make me). One day at a time unfortunately adds up and eventually "wow", what happened?

Getting Ready for School

This summer has gone by way to fast, yet my kids seem to be a whole year older. They are ready to get back to school. They start school this coming Monday. We've done all the school shopping and they have their backpacks ready for the first day. A lot has happened this summer, but I am not ready for it to end. I will miss my kids and all the small moments here and there that makes family and summer great. This picture is awesome because it explains so well who my kids are: Porter is the calm one, with one arm around Heidi he's ready for the picture whenever. Bryant, well it may look like he's wearing a strait-jacket, but it's just his oversized dress shirt. He wishes he wasn't there at all and is trying to slowly melt into the couch thinking he may not show up in the picture at all, yet he smiles just in case his plan doesn't work. Meagan has been laughing non stop and is having a rough time staying still enough for me to get a good shot. And Heidi, well, she has no idea what is even going on. She is in her own world, most likely a world where she is a princess in a lovely pink dress dancing around and around. I love my kids.
