"We can’t predict all the struggles and storms in life, not even the ones just around the next corner, but as persons of faith and hope, we know beyond the shadow of any doubt that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and the best is yet to come." - L. Tom Perry

Scout Camp

Phil and the boys went to scout camp this last week. Somehow Bryant managed to get into the shower before I got his "camping" picture. They had a lot of fun, got real dirty, and came back exhausted. Heidi was pretty disgusted with Phil's facial hair and demanded that it had to come off right away. The girls and I had alot of fun staying up late watching movies every night while they were gone. We missed them and are so glad that everyone is home safe.

To the Mountains

We went camping...

Porter tried to climb every tree there.

The girls were great campers. Heidi was so much fun to watch, she had a blast.

Our campsite was awesome. It was absolutely beautiful, (yet still had bathrooms). The kids spent a lot of time playing by a small creek that was right there.

We hiked to some waterfalls.

Tried to set the camera timer to get a family picture. Phil was on one side of the falls and we were on the other, Phil didn't quite make it to the other side in time. He was just glad to be in the picture.

We stopped and got some great pictures on the drive home.

And what would a camping trip be without a flat tire? We were blessed when and where it happened. We knew we needed the tires and to make it as far as we did, to make it home safely with the spare (which didn't look to great to begin with), and to have it happen at a point in the road where we could pull over - pretty amazing.

Fun Picture

We went to the movies on Memorial Day. Bryant won a couple of free movie passes to the Pollack Tempe Cinemas. A little out of the way, but it was fun. It's a discount movie theater, so the movies are either already on DVD or almost. We watched Race to Witch Mountain, it was pretty good. There are lots of life size movie characters and Phil took this picture.

It's been too long

I'm way past due for a new post. The kids are out of school and this is our first week of summer vacation. Getting through that last month of school was rough, but we can all just relax now, right? This week I've already had to deal with computer and Internet issues, taking way more time than I even thought I had to give it. We've done a little bit of babysitting, car washing, house cleaning, and movie watching. Typical summer stuff. We've taken our runs to Circle K to get cold fountain drinks, and a trip to the Library. The boys got to go do baptisms at the temple today with a friend of mine and her kids, while the girls and I did our nails. I love to stay busy, but it makes the time go by way to fast. The kids go back to school the 5th of August, and I know it will be here sooner than I am willing to believe. Heidi joins the kids this year as she will be starting Kindergarten. She is excited, and I am wanting this summer to last forever. I'm at a point in my life where I just love the way things are. I'm grateful for all the tender mercies that my family and I are blessed with every day.
