"We can’t predict all the struggles and storms in life, not even the ones just around the next corner, but as persons of faith and hope, we know beyond the shadow of any doubt that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and the best is yet to come." - L. Tom Perry

Happy Birthday Bryant!

Bryant is now 12! He's been looking forward to his birthday for a while now. He becomes a deacon on Sunday, one of 15 now. Bryant is our builder. Make sure to check out his blog to see the bookshelf he just build (using a hacksaw, in 100 degree weather). So, in planning what we wanted to get him for his birthday, we knew it would have to be some kind of dangerous power tool. We went with a jig saw, yes one with very sharp blades. He's already planning his next woodworking adventure. He looks pretty good in his protective glasses. He may have to fight with Porter over the them, Porter wore them the rest of the evening, thought they were pretty cool. Last night we had homemade pizza for dinner, at Bryants request. And his aunt Jera, along with cousin Dustin and his wife Kyla, all come over for the birthday celebration. Jera taught us a game called cups, which required too much eye-hand coordination for me, so I sat out.(Note:Porter's got the glasses on) It was a fun night, thank you Bryant for turning 12.

Happy Birthday Porter!

Jera came over last night for a birthday dinner with cupcakes and ice-cream. We had a great time. Porter is now a golfer and looks forward to going out with Phil. Jera got him 10lb weights. It may not look so obvious, but he's got muscles. He has a consistent morning routine where he's been using a set of 5lb weights, so this will help him increase his efforts. He also got the first book in the series, "The Work and the Glory". We just watched the 3rd movie and he wants to start reading the series. We also got him his very own pocket hymn book. And lastly, although he previously received the gift, Grandpa Jerry gave Porter his camera with all the lenses and stuff. Porter has been getting into photography and this was a great gift, he's been using it every chance he gets. What a lucky kid, not because of the gifts as much as the love he feels from all those around him.

Here they are, cooling off on a very hot day.
