Update

So, he liked his present. Heidi was so cute about the whole thing. First, she went through the house yesterday before Phil came home from work and picked out a few things that she thought her dad would love for his birthday. (His old PDA and his pocket church songbook) Then when he came home from work she presented him with her birthday finds. She was pretty impressed with herself. Then after he opened up the picture frame, she showed him how she posed for the pictures. "Then I went like this" and showed him a pose. It was pretty cute.

I just have to add a little note about our funny dog on Easter. We left her alone with the hidden eggs for one minute, and this is what we found. She found the first egg and evidently she doesn't like cinnamon bears.

Happy Birthday

Today is Phil's birthday. What do you get the guy that seems completely satisfied with life that he needs nothing; has wants, but doesn't think they are a priority; and would rather have any money that could be spent on him, left alone in a saving account? It's really hard to argue with any of that, but it sure makes it hard to get him something for his birthday. But we had an idea. Last week I took some pictures of the kids at the park. I think it's been since Meagan was Heidi's age when I last took a bunch of pictures of the kids like this. It was fun, at least for me-and Heidi. Graciously, everyone else kept a smile on their face. We had our goal: to get some good photos to frame for Phil's birthday. I found a really nice, large frame for 12 matted pictures (5X7 and 4X4). I had the photos developed in B&W. I think it really turned out good. We hope he likes it. We shall see tonight. Happy Birthday Phil, We Love You!

Tonto Cave Dwellings

Saturday we went to the Tonto Cave Dwellings north of Globe. It was nice to get out as a family again and enjoy the weather before it gets too hot to do anything.

We learned a little about what they believe to be the history of these Indians that built their homes up in the caves.

It's a little bit of a hike up, although Phil says you can't call it a hike when they have made a nice path for you to walk on, but amazing when you get up there.

On the way down we saw a diamond back rattle snake, he didn't look to happy. We had all walked right past it, but Bryant said, "look guys there's a snake back there".

So we all went back to take a look . This was a not so small rattle snake looking right at us, only a couple of feet away. We all slowly walked away.

Pretty fun trip.
